Dear beloved Parishioners and Friends,
I greet you in the name of Jesus the Christ. It is with profound gratitude that I welcome you to share in the love of God with the St Mary Catholic Church community. The St Mary Church is a large and generous family of over three thousand parishioners, with a teeming population of active youths and children. The Parish is easily accessible, along Nyanya-Karshi road and opposite the Federal Housing Estate in Karu, Abuja.
In the spirit of Christ, and of His mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, we the St Mary Church embrace the slogan “One Heart, One Family”. This maxim embodies the common spirit we share as members of the one body of Christ; it has, indeed, been the source of our strength. I feel bold to say that with the unity of heart we have been able to achieve a lot, the topmost is building strong communities of a happy and committed people, over forty active groups and societies, who stand before the world as beacons of joy and hope.
Hence, we invite you to join us, and to take full advantage of our family space, and also of our big enough physical space, so one does not need to worry about parking space. Through this website you will be furnished with more information about us and enjoy some of the services we provide, services fashioned to enrich our development.
Worthy of mention here are the two very notable institutions managed by our magnificent Church, though many groups and societies in our Parish are also notable, but these two, the St Mary Music Academy, and the St Mary Schools, stand out for the special connection they have with the future of our youth and children. They are specially designed to attract, feed and sustain our youth and children with foundational food for a wholistic formation; here, every aspect of human development is considered. Apart from these, there are other very interesting groups and activities to enjoy in our Parish, like the choir, ours is one of the strongest, if not the best, in the Archdiocese of Abuja.
Talking about being the best, we are in no such competition, but we strive to make our Church a home and a house of prayer. One of the places you would quickly notice in our compound is the Adoration Chapel open every day for about 15 hours every day; there, you will find people always in prayer.
